Cool Canine Hangouts: Summer Dog Parks in Michiana | Cressy & Everett

When the weather's nice, taking your pooch to a dog park is a good way to get them some exercise and socialization. And you'll both be able to enjoy some nice local scenery while you're at it. Our real estate agents recommend the following cool canine hangouts you and your dog will love in Michiana.

  • Niles Ave. Dog Park - 721 N. Niles Ave., South Bend, IN 46617
South Bend's first dog park, Niles Ave. Dog Park is fully enclosed and has several interactive amenities for you and your dog to use. You'll also have access to water, waste bags, and benches. The space is divided into spacious areas for large and small dogs, and after your dog has finished romping and socializing, head to the pathway to walk on the East Bank Trail. Both the trail and the dog park are located near South Bend homes for sale.

  • Rum Village Dog Park - 2626 S. Gertrude St., South Bend, IN 46614
You'll find Rum Village Dog Park located within Rum Village Park, a beautifully wooded area that provides plenty of shade and a relaxing oasis on the south side of South Bend. The park is home to diverse wildlife, including over a hundred bird species, as well as deer, foxes, and reptiles. When you enter the dog park, you can access three separate areas for small, large, and dogs of any size. Each has a nicely paved walkway and benches for relaxing.

  • Margaret H. Prickett Marina Park - 13100 Jefferson Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545
    Margaret H. Prickett Marina Park
, located near Mishawaka homes for sale, has a fenced dog park with two areas for large and small dogs. With an attractive setting next to the Bodine State Fish Hatchery, the park is a nice place to visit. Grassy enclosed spaces are available for large and small breeds, and a hose, poop bags, and water bowls are provided. And when you're ready to sit down for a few minutes, you'll find picnic tables in both areas.

  • Dog Park at Kiwanis Park - 1350 Pearl St., St. Joseph, MI 49085
With a dog park as well as many other amenities, the Dog Park at Kiwanis Park is a popular venue. It has separate fenced-in areas for small and large dogs and a poop bag dispenser. You're welcome to take your pet outside the dog park area, but they must be on a leash. While you're there, check out the playground, skate park, tennis courts, and more at the park, which is located near St. Joseph homes for sale. And be prepared to pay parking fees of $5 for the day or $2 per hour, or you'll risk getting a ticket.

  • Ruff & Tumble Dog Park - 950 Bond St., Niles, MI 29120
Located along the St. Joseph River and close to Niles homes for sale, Ruff & Tumble Dog Park has an acre and a half of space for your dog to romp and play.
