Looking for a stellar dinner and balanced glass of wine? Then you should make a reservation at these South Bend restaurants.

Nothing says summer evenings quite like relaxing at a local eatery with a glass of wine and a plate of good food. If you're looking for a new favorite restaurant or wine bar, here are a few local South Bend places our real estate agents recommend.

  • Ironhand Wine Bar - 1025 Northside Boulevard, South Bend
This local vineyard and winery does every step of the process locally in South Bend. They grow the grapes at their vineyard, make and bottle the wine, and serve it to you along with a full menu of delicious food at the Ironhand Wine Bar. Choose from a wide variety of wines, plus a selection of beer and seltzers for the non-wine drinkers. Create the perfect pairing with delicious small plates, soups, salads, flatbreads, and desserts. Ironhand Wine Bar is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 pm to 9 pm, Wednesdays from 4 pm to 10 pm, Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 11 pm, and Sundays for brunch from 11 am until 3 pm. Reservations are encouraged.

  • The Cellar Wine Bar & Kitchen - 702 East Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend
Born out of a love for Chicago's wine bars, The Cellar Wine Bar & Kitchen was created with the goal of bringing that vibe to South Bend. The wine menu features a selection of wines from all over the United States and the world. And because every good wine needs a good meal to enjoy it with, the food menu offers everything from shareables and charcuterie boards, to flatbreads, salads, and paninis. The Cellar is open Tuesday through Thursday from 4 pm until 10 pm, Friday and Saturday from 4 pm until 11 pm, and Sundays from 11 am until 8 pm.

  • Cafe Navarre - 101 North Michigan Street, South Bend
If you're looking for top-notch dining that just happens to have a good wine list to go with it, check out Cafe Navarre. The food menu is a little slice of heaven, with tempting small plates, memorable soups and salads, and mouth-watering main dishes. Finish it all up with one of their delicious desserts, and don't forget to order a glass (or two) from their extensive wine list. Cafe Navarre is open for dinner every day, starting at 4 pm.

  • Carmela's - 214 North Niles Avenue, South Bend
Nothing goes together better than Italian food and wine! Carmela's is a local favorite Italian place where you can find a wide variety of traditional dishes such as fettuccine Alfredo, gnocchi, shrimp scampi, and baked cheese tortellini. Top it off with a glass of fine wine. Carmela's is open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday from 5 pm until 9 pm, but they're also a favorite spot during Notre Dame special events.

  • Bin 23 - 120 Perspective Drive, Granger
Known in part for their brick oven pizzas, Bin 23 also boasts an extensive wine list with selections from around the world. Not a pizza and wine kind of person? Bin 23's menu also features a long list of appetizers, pasta, burgers, and more. Located in nearby Granger, Bin 23 is an easy drive and a convenient place to fuel up before or after visiting South Bend homes for sale with your agent. They're open Monday through Thursday from 11 am until 9 pm, Fridays from 11 am until 10 pm, Saturdays from 10 am until 10 pm, and Sundays from 10 am until 8 pm. Brunch is served until 2 pm every weekend.
