Driving Tour - Michiana - Cressy & Everett Real Estate

Grab the kids and switch up your normal weekend routine with a drive around Michiana. Our real estate agents love an afternoon spent with the windows down and the tunes cranked up. Pack a few snacks, create a cool cruising playlist, and check out these interesting landmarks in South Bend, Nappanee, and Mishawaka.

  • The Statue of Liberty Replica — 101 S. Main St., South Bend, IN 46601
    When you're riding around looking at South Bend homes for sale, you may recognize a familiar face from New York. In the 1950s, The Boy Scouts of America dedicated this replica of The Statue of Liberty "as a pledge of Fidelity and Loyalty". This marker is actually part of the nation-wide Statue of Liberty Replicas series. Today, this marker is located on the eastern-facing entrance of the St. Joseph County Courthouse. Be sure to look around the area while you're driving to spot other cool markers like the St. Joseph County Civil War Monument only a few feet away.

  • Amish Acres Historic Farm & Heritage Resort — 1600 W. Market St., Nappanee, IN 46550
    While you may not be able to drive all through this area (or find any Nappanee homes for sale, for that matter) a trip to the Amish Acres Historic Farm & Heritage Resort feels like driving into the past. As the only Amish farm listed in The National Register of Historic Places, this authentic area asks you to trade your vehicle for a horse and buggy as you tour the grounds, marveling at their charming architecture.

  • University of Notre Dame — 100 Eck Ctr., South Bend, IN 46556
    No drive around St. Joseph County is complete without a ride through the campus of the University of Notre Dame. This iconic school is absolutely gorgeous inside and out, offering visitors serene surroundings and beautiful outdoor attractions such as the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes. With artwork abound and the huge stadium a sight to behold in itself, a drive around the University of Notre Dame is a campus tour unlike any other.

  • The Riverwalk — N. Spring St., Mishawaka, IN 46544
    The Riverwalk, known properly as the River St. Joseph of the Miamis Trail, offers a wonderful way to enjoy the river. After browsing Mishawaka homes for sale, take a moment to cruise either side and discover a number of excellent shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues.

  • River Lights Plaza — 400 E. Colfax St., South Bend, IN 46617
    While you're down near the St. Joseph River, we suggest your end your driving tour with a trip to River Lights Plaza. Located in downtown South Bend, this new interactive art installation is the perfect place to park after sundown. Operating from sundown until sunset, seeing the St. Joseph River bathed in colorful light really showcases the heart of this city.
